How to get to Minami Izu

There are two main ways to travel to Minami Izu (excluding car) so depending on your budget, time and preferred means of transport you have plenty of options. Please note that to get further than Shuzenji you will need to transfer to the local bus.

✿ Bullet Train (Shinkansen)/train

From Tokyo Station, take the bullet train to Atami station and switch to the JR Ito Line. You will need to transfer to the bus from Shimoda Station.

Cost: ¥7,530 (as of May 2021) – train only
Time: 141 minutes – train only

✿ Local Train

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Tokaido Line for Atami. Switch to the JR Ito Line. Alternatively, you can take Limited Express Odoriko straight from Tokyo Station. You will need to transfer to the bus from Shimoda Station.

Cost: ¥3,960 – 7,400 (as of May 2021) – train only
Time: 163 -218 minutes – train only
