How to get to Shimoda

There are two main ways to travel to Shimoda (excluding car) so depending on your budget, time and preferred means of transport you have plenty of options.

✿ Bullet Train (Shinkansen)/train

From Tokyo Station, take the bullet train to Atami station and switch to the JR Ito Line.

Cost: ¥7,530 (as of May 2021)
Time: 141 minutes

✿ Local Train

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Tokaido Line for Atami. Switch to the JR Ito Line. Alternatively, you can take Limited Express Odoriko straight from Tokyo Station.

Cost: ¥3,960 – 7,400 (as of May 2021)
Time: 163 -218 minutes
