Izu City is the biggest area within the peninsula, combining the four towns, Shuzenji, Nakaizu, Amagi and Toi. This area is jam-packed full of amazing viewpoints and plenty of local events/places of interest to keep you entertained.

How to get to Izu City

There are two main ways to travel to Izu City (excluding car) so depending on your budget, time and preferred means of transport you have plenty of options. ✿ Bullet Train (Shinkansen)/train/local bus

From Tokyo Station, take the bullet train to Mishima station and switch to the Izu Hakone Tetsudo Line. From Shuzenji you will need to take the local bus to get to any other area.

Cost: ¥5,320 (as of December 2020) – train only
Time: 104 minutes – train only

✿ Local Train/bus

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Tokaido Line for Mishima. Switch to the JR Tokaido Local Line and continue on to Shuzenji. From Shuzenji you will need to take the local bus to get to any other area.

Cost: ¥3,160 – 4,920 (as of December 2020)
Time: 151 to 215 minutes
