Numazu Flood Gate
VIEWPOINT
Numazu Flood Gate (Numazu Port Observatory Water Gate View-O) boasts 360 views of Numazu and the Suruga Bay and is part of the tsunami countermeasures for the area. Completed in 2004, it weighs 406 tons and is one of the largest in Japan.
At the 30m observation deck you can see Mt. Fuji, the Hakone mountain range, the Numazu Alps and many more places (on a clear day)! Looking into the distance over the Suruga Bay, you can also see Cape Ose. The flood gate is also lit up at night, providing a beautiful, photogenic picture for all you enthusiasts!

Review
The Numazu Flood Gate is a good place to come and overlook Numazu and the surrounding area. I really recommend coming here on a day where the weather is good! Unfortunately there’s not much else to do here other than look at the scenery.
